Once again the issue centers on the beautiful and well-equipped kitchen areas provided in our office. Since we don't have a corporate cafeteria, only nearby restaurants, we have a large kitchen/dining area on each floor. These kitchens all have a coffee machine, an espresso maker, 4 microwaves, a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, a panini maker, an electric griddle, and a convection wall oven. Also two sinks and two dishwashers. All so people who want to bring food from home can either warm up leftovers or cook food from scratch if they so desire.
So this morning when I went into the kitchen to wash my coffee cup in the sink, I noticed a new sign in a plastic holder right by the sink. It says,
"Please wash your dirty dishes or place them in the dishwasher. Please do not leave dirty plates/cups/utensils in the sink"
First, it is a sad commentary on humanity that this needs to be stated. WTF do these people think? Their mom works here? Perhaps the dishes wash themselves?
Second, the entitled bastards who have continually done this are actually upset at the sign!!!! They claim they don't come to work to wash dishes, so why should they have to do so? Well, they don't have to wash the fucking dishes if such menial labor is beneath them. They can simply put the items they used into one of the two dishwashers provided. How hard is that? Apparently much harder than I would have ever imagined.
If one of my kids ever reacted in this manner, I would disown them. But that would never happen. They would be as outraged as I am.
Whose job is it to run the dishwashers?
We have to have signs asking people not to dump anything other than water in the water fountain drains (maybe 6 feet away from our kitchenette area with trash and sink). I weep for humanity.
"The trophy problem has become extreme."
