I know as an atheist republican I am in the majority and I don't align with a lot of party issues because religion is driving them. To be honest the religious branch of the party has taken so much control and drive the agenda to such a degree it has soured me to the party. A asked a gut running for city council why I should vote for and he said it was because he is prochoice. I didn't vote for him, why would a vote for someone who thinks choice is a valid issue at the local level.
