I hate the Patriots, but I hate the NFL more. There is no question that the Patriots are cheaters, and should be despised for it. The NFL turned my favorite sports league into a joke by never penalizing the cheaters enough to make a difference. So we have known cheaters that just keep winning and winning. Very entertaining.
I've felt this way for a while but this year was particularly galling because I found myself rooting for the chargers and then the chiefs in subsequent weeks of the playoffs, just so the cheaters wouldn't make it to the Super Bowl. I am a lifelong broncos fan but wanted division rivals to succeed for some sense of justice. Really, why bother tuning in at this point?
