Getting the writing done well is almost free compared to paying the actors and doing the FX. So... no excuses when you don't.

Hanging around good writers, well some people find the experience insufferable.

But to other people the experience can be quite enjoyable (as long as you are getting paid, and there are little other source of stress in your life.)
