His proposal was unreasonable, illogical, and inappropriate. Which Google tells me qualifies it for being called "absurd".

I disagree that it's unreasonable; again, countries have bought and sold territory all throughout history. Just because it hasn't happened in the past ~50 years, doesn't make it unreasonable. It's also not illogical, for the exact same reason.

It was inappropriate, though.
