Okay, MAYBE the only other improvement might be the AA gunners in the Star Destroyer shooting down another escape pod to justify not shooting the one with no life forms. But that's it.
the first time I saw SW, I recall being afraid for Obi Wan because he seemed so old and fragile compared to Vader. Sure, these days the revisionist joke is about one being old and the other can't see very well in the mask, but it didn't feel that way to me. Vader didn't look like he needed to swing about wildly or do prequel style back flips because he was so formidable it was obviously a matter of time before he overcomes.
This modified fight makes Obi Wan more of a spry fighter, which is cooler visually but detracts from the dramatic impact of their mismatch.
