How is not getting a parental handout "getting screwed"?

because of their parents' shitty mistakes.
because of their parents' shitty mistakes.
That's a thing you have to deal with. You get the good stuff that comes with the random parents you draw, and you get the bad. As the eldest child of seven (plus two foster kids), what standard of material living did I get "screwed" out of by my parents' shitty mistakes to keep reproducing over and above the heir and spare to maintain replacement level population?
Idk, I'm not gonna have kids, I don't have loan debt. I don't have a dog in this fight. But I sympathize with that guy; he is getting screwed. I also feel bad for his buddies child; they're SOL for an education because their parent is an idiot.
Education should be one's own responsibility once one is an adult. Parents' responsibility as a minor, not the state's or the community's and not the country's. The dog we have in this fight is that we are being taxed to pay for the educations of all the breeders.

My brother, who paid for private colleges for two daughters, often makes the same point. *NM*

Yeah but, the counterargument is that the kids of those dumb parents shouldn't be screwed

Doesn't that argument apply to tons of changes in government policy, though?
