Harley Quinn has precisely zero appeal to me. I hate the combination of the nasal accent and the affected infantilism in her dialogue. When you have a character who is a walking cartoon, you need something to maintain plausibility, like Deadpool's indestructibility, whereby he can snark and mug and posture because there are no lasting consequences for him. But I have yet to see why or how we are supposed to take it for granted that this small skinny woman with similar flamboyance and affectations for humor's sake wins fights. The Birds of Prey look dull and boring, and it reminds me somewhat of the aesthetic of Ocean's 8, managing to be both drab and garish at the same time.
It doesn't even have the appeal of a train wreck in progress like lots of other movies I see with low expectations.
Also, if this, by being a sequel to "Suicide Squad" is part of the DCU, due to Ben Affleck playing Batman, then it coexists with "Shazam" where Mary's shazam alter-ego is identical to Huntress? Of course, the wizard himself looks remarkably like the king of the Fishermen from "Aquaman" ...
