I know two people who've lost family. For now. As the US, and India follow from roughly 2 weeks behind Italy, I'm braced for worse. Stay safe everyone.

New York state has more confirmed coronavirus infections per capita than Italy.

Hopefully this is a good thing and we are just doing good testing / expectation , but at a cursory glance with no context it does not look good.


It's also about the percentage taking public transport versus the percentage driving cars. When you're on a crowded train in NYC there's a higher percentage of getting anything compared to driving by oneself. And NYC has the highest percentage of people taking mass transit. It obviously also depends on how people are protecting themselves, how they are buying groceries, where they are going, etc. But from the photos Ive seen of NYC, I am expecting NYC itself to have the worst time in absolute numbers compared to some other places in the US that will also have a bad time of it. We'll see. Hopefully I am wrong.
