More bullshit! - Edit 1

Before modification by Tom at 05/06/2020 11:15:22 PM

  1. As Chris Rock said, 50% of the people are below average. Yes. There will be poor people. Yes, we need to figure out as a society how to structure things to encourage entrepreneurship, risk and independence without making their lives miserable in the process. Note that my original point was that race and class are being conflated.

  2. Big companies love hiring minorities because of the mea culpa culture where white people feel the moronic need to get on their knees and beg forgiveness for something they're not guilty of. Big companies actively seek out qualified minority candidates so they can show how diverse they are. With smaller employers, I have heard a few clients that are SMALL business owners who say they don't like hiring black employees, but the reason is because a statistically significant percentage of black employees see racism everywhere and are more than happy to claim it if they are fired. "I want to take a chance on the guy, but if I do I won't ever be able to fire him without a lawsuit" is what I hear. That's not racism. It's racism-related, but it's not racism. And it's total and complete bullshit to say they don't commit more crimes but are found guilty more often. It runs counter to actual statistics compiled by the FBI. There aren't massive numbers of unsolved murders every year. Oh, and of course of the 7407 blacks who were victims of homicide, most of them were killed by other blacks. If black lives matter, then the target shouldn't be the police who shot 9 unarmed blacks last year or who killed 235 blacks total, but the gang members who killed the vast majority of the rest.

I personally don't give a shit what color someone's skin is as long as they're decent people. I don't want to see poor people suffer, either. I think we should have open conversations to figure out how to improve things. But I also know that glorifying criminals who are sadly murdered by improper force while arresting them, and then saying "Fuck the Police", looting and burning neighborhoods and businesses already treading water because of coronavirus, I'm not going to have a PC conversation anymore. About anything. Let's just have it all out and then go have a drink, and the people who aren't willing to have honest conversations should fuck off. And looters should be shot on sight. Period.

  1. In connection with the foregoing, when people look for racism, they'll find it. Just like any conspiracy theory out there, if you start digging you'll find something even where there is nothing. The guy at the restaurant didn't give you right change? Probably racism. The guy cut you off on the highway? Racism. You got a bad grade on a test? Racism (structural, too, because we know those tests are written "for white people", whatever that means).

  2. Bigotry exists and always will, in every country on earth, and trying to wish it away or say that it's not fair that black people have to earn respect where perhaps a white person wouldn't is irrelevant. THAT sort of "racism" (though bigotry is not the same - racism is technically when someone agitates for legal codification of bigotry) isn't something you can legislate. No amount of "awareness training" is going to change what people anecdotally experience (again, mostly because race and class are conflated so much). The point is that bitching about the world being unfair isn't going to change it, particularly when it's at a personal level that varies from person to person. Black people in New York have been some of the most bigoted people I've met - they're the ones who beat up Chinese people because of coronavirus, and they're the ones who are responsible for 90% (or more) of the anti-Semitism in New York (not speaking about other parts of the country). And, of course, a lot hate white people. You know, because racism. Apparently all that isn't racism, though, because in the neo-Marxist Leftist ideology you can't be racist unless you're the "power class" (and that will always be carefully crafted to excuse racism by entire parts of the public).

  3. On the 25% of crimes vs. 13% of the population but they get stronger sentences, again, cf. the fact that they're 56% of homicide suspects and 60% of robbery suspects. Those carry stronger sentences than jaywalking or turnstyle jumping. Consi
