There's a degree of excitement. Kind of like a convertible car, but more so. It has the same general feeling of being on a motorcycle. The no-doors thing can be an issue however, as it does get annoying that you have to tie down/secure every little thing in the car. Sunshade...gym bag....whatever. Then you have to lock the glove compartment (and any others), as someone could go through them and not even have to touch the body of the car itself. And then you have to be good with the possibility of people taking off with floor mats or whatever else is just there.

When I had my Jeep, I never took the doors off. I didn't have the storage bags (so that they wouldn't get all scratched up), and I just wasn't in the mood to deal with all the above stuff. And then you have to ensure that you have the mirrors that you can clip onto the frame. Not having mirrors is tough to drive (and illegal in California).

Sounds like a car you rent for a week instead of owning.
