How is everyone?

A pun always draws a chuckle.

In answer to the question at end, I am well as can be is the simple answer (ie. Skip to the end if you don't have time for a TooLongDroningRant) <resuming .....> - maintaining as much life as possible in NY State at large with 'Winter coming' and covid-fear sporadically rampant across layers of civilization and the failed fourth estate.

The randomness of the impact, as well as the spread of all this just begs the question of laughing in the face of chaos. The only thing that realistically changed is our perception of threat in society at large. That threat (especially for those with co-morbidity for Millenia) has always been real and a matter of "every time you leave your house" S.O.P.- the entire difference is perception and awareness.

Let us all recognize this is not "The Stand" come to life. Prudent preparations and caution are always warranted, now that society is taking notice however, in time this could actually ease some people's fight with cancers and other immuno-compromising diseases and treatments because society may finally be more conscious of our wider impact upon each-other. Another stepping stone on our species growing up a bit more. Yet the opposite swing is entirely possible and we'll be soon on a path to a working model of Asimov's Solaria or his Caves-of-Steel macro-cities "for our health & safety".

The human condition is coping with fear of the unknown and unexperienced, and over-coming that fear to gnosis and freedom by taking open eyed precautions; employing example & experience, getting back up again if able. K.C.C.O.

I hope everyone who does happen to get it survives, because it will just improve our societal immunity that much more. And to those who have the worst of it - being unable to visit loved ones as they pass alone, even with virtual contact it's still tragic in the truest sense of the word. I also am hopeful a vaccine can truly be put out this quickly, being a prime target on so many of the lists will make certain people much more needful of it - to which I just wish for "the/a" rollout plan to be thought-through thoroughly before being deployed - "we're" already rioting in the streets, we don't need vaccine-lines intersecting with rioting people mobbing hospitals now like a Gucci store for their own shots. National nightmare on the front page of every screen in existence from here forward - Casus Belli for all sides.

The overall mental health of civilization is not something I worry over - the mobs are controlled and targeted entities. The thing I fear is mental health of the individual in the world today. We all know someone who has struggles or just may need some checking in on every once in a while. With all that hyperawareness and conspiracy theories abounding on on all sides: Remembering our humanity may mean having to risk death by disease to save someone from death by suicide, cop or some other induced event(s) which may have been prevented by just the act of reaching out, even if virtually, via semaphore, via tin-can with a string if need be. Ripples in the ocean of humanity, our lives are ... and just as fleeting.

(The end of the TLDR).

I am hopeful for Tom that he's doing okay; and anyone else here whom may have come down with it, to whatever effects. Extended family and friends as well - my thoughts and prayers go out.

Be well, stay sane and K.C.C.O. humanity:
"You can do it!" ~ Rob Schneider
