I say apparently just because I usually find people attribute very subjective meanings to the words coming out of Trump's orange mouth.

They do not. Which is why the absurd demand to take Trump "seriously, but not literally" exists.

However, saving public trust in the political process is important, even if there were irregularities in these elections.

There were no irregularities. The Courts say so. The state governments, Republican or Democratic, say so. The facts are clear. And the price of lying is also clear. So please stop lying.

Are you talking about political players or people on this board ?

Both?

I mean, I don't give a damn if someone on this board changes their opinion. It would be nice to have, but hardly necessary.

I think the people who hate Trump would do anything, to keep him away from power. Do you disagree with that statement ?

Like storm the Capitol? Attempt to kidnap him? Send pipe bombs to his campaign? No? Then shut the fuck up with the bothsidesism.

I don't just disagree with that statement. The facts are so clear that I think believing that statement shows me that the person making it has deliberately pruned their national news sources, or is insane.

Of course 'anything' is kind of a weasel word, isn't it ? When I say I'd do anything to keep my job, I usually don't mean bukkake.

That's nice. But let's stick to facts. Plenty of people were pissed Trump got elected. They marched on Washington and last I checked, didn't come close to breaching the Capitol, let alone smearing it with their feces and vandalizing it, or attempting to kidnap government officials, or bombing government buildings. So no, fucking no. "anything" is not what people will do to get rid of Trump. They voted to get him out. Which I believe they have a constitutional right to.

Is this your idea of conversation ? If you start off with a talk to the hand attitude why are you on a message board ?

I'm on it because I want to be on it. I am allowed to vent. I am allowed to rage. I am allowed to be sarcastic.

I have no obligation to treat people with the view that Trump's victory was stolen with respect. I have no obligation to change their minds. I have no obligation to respect the MAGA viewpoint as worthy of being held.

I'm honestly asking, did Trump tell his supporters to violently storm the Capitol ?

That is not the legal standard. So I don't see the point of answering this question.
From what a friend told me,

Why is a "friend" telling you this? His speech was televised. Why the fuck are you defending him without hearing his words first-hand?

<quite>Unfortunately political violence has been normalized in the US during the last years. I recall a mob banging on the doors of wherever it was Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as a Justice.
Banding on the door, trespassing with guns, same thing, eh?

And small mobs screaming administration officials out of restaurants.

This is violence, now?
And quite violently protesting against some Ben Shapiros on college campuses. Murder at Charlottesville. Rioting this whole summer.

Yeah these aren't the same thing. And about those riots... do you have the guts to comment on the difference in police response this summer compared to the 6th of January?
