I'm not talking about the police presence in DC only,

I did not mean to, either.

I'm talking about all over, including Portland, Minneapolis, etc.

I'm'a stop you right here. So, the first protests were in Minneapolis, where George Floyd was killed by that cop. There was not a huge police presence at those initial protests. Likewise, at the initial ones in major cities across the nation after Floyd's murder, there was not a huge presence. Yes, once riots began breaking out in some cities, the police presence hardened quickly everywhere.

I think you can make a fair argument that, given how the first trump riot turns into an attempted coup and actual sedition, that the law enforcement presence at any other rallies these people may hold in DC should be dramatically overbearing, to show that the gov't isn't being biased, but I really don't buy "there weren't many cops at the first pro-trump riot ever but there were a bunch of cops at all the riots over the summer so therefore it's obviously bias".

At that time, comparisons were made to how different in amount and violence the police presence was during the anti-mask protests and riots. I think the insurrection on the 6th serves as a better comparison now.

Anti-lockdown demonstrations =/= trump seditionists. These were two entirely different rallies for two entirely different things, and tying them together is not honest, even if the Venn diagram of these two groups is an egg shape.
