If Amazon spends that much money it's less likely to do something stupid like, say, tout the first openly trans character in the Tolkien universe, or make Sauron 1.0 look like Donald Trump.

And yes Tolkien was thinking about this since he was familiar with Milton, and he wrote in Laws and Customs Among the Eldar that when elves die and get reincarnated, they are once again birthed with a second life which is always ... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH I recognize D&D setting lore when I see it
