I'm fine with it's breadth. That's per the book. The flying buttresses and stuff are not, though. The Tower in the books has a very clean, spartan external front. But I guess for the show, they wanted it to be more visually arresting.

Yeah. Someone said they've worked the make the nationalities more visually distinct. So a fisherwoman having tattoos wouldn't be the weirdest, I guess.
Agree. You have to show the weaves somehow. This was as good as one could hope.
I washed in slow mo, and they do show the weaves. You can see them most clearly when Moiraine summons lightning at the end.
The books were multi-ethnic so the adaptation would have to be as well.
Maybe not so much in the composition of the Two Rivers population, but that isn't any sort of an issue. I'm more disturbed by the hideous Waygate in the middle of nowhere.
Well, if the source being multi-ethnic is going to make Hollywood care, the monstrosity that is The Last Airbender wouldn't exist.
The Waygate may be in Shienar. Where it is supposed to be in the middle of nowhere, no?
The shape is weird..it's supposed to be carved with wines, and look organic, not like sharp blades.
