Yes, but in a Manhattan sized island, it shouldn't be dominating the skyline quite this much.

I'm fine with it's breadth. That's per the book. The flying buttresses and stuff are not, though. The Tower in the books has a very clean, spartan external front. But I guess for the show, they wanted it to be more visually arresting.

I think the buildings look generic fantasy and ugly. Nothing like I picture Ogier creations renowned worldwide for their beauty and design.

Well, if the source being multi-ethnic is going to make Hollywood care, the monstrosity that is The Last Airbender wouldn't exist.

True. And like I said, this isn't an issue that ruins it for me. But Jordan created multiple women, BPOC, and Asian characters in positions of power and responsibility. Emond's Field, on the other hand, is a backwater village who's residents are viewed as hayseeds and where visitors are rare. It seems forced to make these villagers multicultural when there are naturally occurring opportunities throughout the saga.

The Waygate may be in Shienar. Where it is supposed to be in the middle of nowhere, no?
The shape is weird..it's supposed to be carved with wines, and look organic, not like sharp blades.

The Waygates were found in groves of the Great Trees. Most of those groves are long gone but sticking out of the ground like some sort of Stonehenge in the middle of an open field? Plus as you said, it looks nothing like the descriptions in the books.
