It premiered tonight. It was excellent.

Ray Donovan is on the list of my 10 favorite TV shows of all time. When season 7 ended exactly 2 years ago and Showtime cancelled the series, I was outraged. A year later when they announced they would be making a movie to wrap it up, I couldn’t wait.

This was a great show and deserved a proper send-off. The movie provided it. It completed the circle that went all the way back to season 1, weaving in flashbacks to the events that set Ray on his path along with the current events that ended the only way they could have ended.

It was a great TV show. The movie finale did it justice.
