The NYT announced today that they have purchased the rights to Wordle for an amount “in the low seven figures.” The Times also says, “the game will initially stay free to play.”

This is some bullshit if they take this fun, free game and stick it behind their fucking paywall. The instant they do that, I will immediately cancel my online subscription. I have already emailed them to inform them of this.

I’m totally pissed off.


But to be fair, if the creators were willing to sell it for a low seven, some fake NFT billionaire might have easily bought it
