Felix Culpa to all who celebrate!

In the Julian Calendar of Caesar it was the date of March 25th, the Spring Equinox which began the new year, after Christianity became dominant, and Dionysius Exiguus did his AD thingy.

Also in Christianity it is also a day of anniversary for supposedly this was the day of the Fall (happy Felix Culpa everyone). This is also the day of the Annunciation where Mary was told she was pregnant due to the Angel Gabriel acting as a modern pregnancy test. 9 months later we get Christmas. And March 25th was also supposedly the day of Christ’s death in the Julian Calendar due to symmetry.

Yet we celebrate Easter as the 14th of Nisan for that is when Passover occurs and that holiday is the first full moon of the new spring year.

And thus Tolkien made this day the day of Sauron’s death, and also the birthday of Samwise firstborn a year later with Elanor the Fair.

Happy anniversary to all who celebrate! The world is on its axis being reborn anew once again
