We saw it with my dad, who couldn't remember what he said two minutes ago but could recall experiences from decades in the past. And you're right, the first 3 or 4 years did have good moments and memories. But the last year was very bad. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

That and the memory of the blank look on my grandmother's face momentarily clearing and her saying, "Michele, cosa c'è di sbagliato in me?" Then the fog closing back in again.
