Ultimately, though, it's as futile as arguing politics on the Internet. No one is listening and everyone is just pushing their own prejudices and positions, which means that it's a colossal waste of time. Every now and then you can correct a gross grammatical, orthographic or stylistic error, but unless you know the person won't be offended then that's futile too. The stupidity of people is staggering and incapable of being corrected.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
