Am I being unreasonable? - Edit 1

Before modification by entyti at 12/08/2023 05:26:46 AM

Whatever your opinion, is it so unreasonable to use their preferred terminology? It doesn't seem to me that saying "transgender people," instead of "transgenders," is such an odious request.

I can understand calling an individual "a transgender" being insulting compared to "is transgender," or "a transgender person." However, we're talking about groups, and transgenders seems a perfectly suitable shorthand in the case I used. Really no different than whites, blacks, Latinos, etc.

Besides, it was hardly the offensive part of my post. Frankly I was confused she called it out in the first place, and had assumed it was simply a dig at my character for being insensitive, ignorant or some combination thereof...

Which, maybe I am. "To thine own self be true," so they say. And isn't that what this is about, on some level?
