Once again, we see a word being overused until it loses all meaning. - Edit 1

The word for the day, boys and girls, is genocide.

This is the favorite catch-all term for the idiots engaging in violent protests across our cities and elite campuses in support of Hamas and against Israel. Bombing is genocide. Invasion is genocide. Blockades are genocide. But is it?

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, genocide is, "the deliberate and systematic destruction of a group of people because of their ethnicity, nationality, religion, or race." Warfare that involves the killing of civilians is not genocide. Dropping the atom bomb on Hiroshima or the firebombing of Dresden, both of which killed over 100,00 people who were mostly civilians, were not genocide. Were they massacres? Probably. Were they war crimes? One could make that argument. But while all genocides are war crimes, not all war crimes are genocide.

The deliberate and systematic destruction of a group of people because of their ethnicity, nationality, religion, or race is what Hamas and Hezbollah, and their Iranian sponsors, want to do to Israel. Their charters clearly state as much.

What Israel wants to do is eliminate a terrorist group that has pledged to destroy them. One of these is indeed genocide. Just not the one being supported by so-called progressives.

It's somewhat frightening and definitely disturbing how easily and quickly it becomes acceptable to hate Jews.
