To be clear - took me a while to figure this out too - these are two different shows, one is '8 out of 10 cats', which is a panel show about opinion polls and statistics, while the other is a sort of spin-off called '8 out of 10 cats does Countdown'. Both are comedy shows that don't take their base concept very seriously, with the same presenter and largely the same panel members, but a different game.

Countdown itself is an actually serious gameshow and '8 out of 10 cats does Countdown' borrows Countdown's concept and its supporting presenters, but otherwise doesn't take it remotely seriously and just goes off on the most wildly random (and hilarious) tangents.
