They have direct access to some of the most sensitive government systems (that such access apparently exists is sending my various IT friends into apoplexy by itself, but I digress) and can edit core systems and data on a whim. The Senate has a GOP majority. If what they are doing is badly needed and is nothing to worry about, why can't Musk and his various associates be vetted the way everyone has been vetted before?
