Why doesn't Harry ask Bob about being Starborn? I mean, why didn't Harry ask him years ago?
I've also wondered why his mom, who obviously planned his birth for that outcome, didn't leave any clues as to what it would mean.
It could also be she did leave clues, but he hasn't found them yet. Might be as simple as telling Malcolm "Give Harry this book/letter/whatever I wrote when he turns 15" but then that didn't happen because Malcolm didn't live long enough. Could be Leah is supposed to give him something when Harry asks about starborn, like she did with the gem for Harry's necklace*? Leah could be waiting impatiently like Thom whipping out Moiraine's letter over and over again in front of Mat.
*Though I think Harry's question that got the necklace was general enough for this as well, unless Margaret's instructions were very specific or aimed at someone else.
Maybe DuMorne was in on the plan to make a starborn and Margaret thought he was a good guy, and he was supposed to fill Harry in.
Finally (and the weird brotherly soul gaze spell indicates against this) maybe Margaret thought she would live to tell him herself.
