Uram is tall, as are all Ogier, with thick mustaches drooping down his face. He has dark hair and eyes.

Until the Breaking, he had lived in a stedding near Paaren Disen, but as the world shook and changed, he was forced to wander. Before the Collapse, he and his brothers and sisters had served as the core of an Earth Song. They traveled to the various farming communities and joined in with the Aiel and the local Aes Sedai to sing to the crops, to the forests, and sometimes to the seas. When the collapse came, the song was harder to make, and fewer Aiel were there to join in. Crops began to fail, and the human farmers blamed the Ogier.

When the Breaking forced him and his family out of their stedding, they sang the wood into wagon wheels, axles, and wagon beds. Not one nail was needed, and not a single tree died for their needs. Now they wander, defending themselves from bandits, singing to the trees wherever they find them, and hoping to one day find a home again.

The longing has not yet begun, but its seeds are being planted.
