It sounded like Fox knew I was lying, but he had to be careful since he was scum and no one would know for sure if I really was lying about my role even after I died.

The point of the fakeclaim here was

1) Not to get lynched (I was definitely the leading suspect, though)
2) Not claim a role that was likely to be taken by a real town power role (as that would just reveal them if they counter-claimed me)
3) Be a role that could exist in this setting
4) I felt that the people voting me at the time were townies and not DFs (Isaac, beet, Kronin). I wanted to make the DFs think about whether they wanted to risk being 'caught' lynching a possible town cop, when they could just kill or roleblock me (I thought they would have a roleblocker).
