We should all be voting Aye.
First of all, bioterrorism is a serious offense, with grave economic and environmental impact, and we cannot allow Sivria's crimes to go unpunished.
Secondly, it's in everyone's best interest anyway.
Obviously, anyone with Agricultural Fiefs is going to want to vote Aye. Anyone without Agricultural Fiefs is also going to want to vote Aye, but that might be less obvious. I shall explain.
A Nay vote nets us all 3000 MS. That's pretty good right?
An Aye vote gets us 2d6 stock. As our illustrious Adjutant General mentioned, the average of 2d6 is 7.
According to the Round schedule presented in the rules, the Crisis will be resolved before the Round's income is distributed, so we'll earn income on that stock. For the average of 7, that will be 700 MS. At the start of Round 3, if you so desired, you could then liquidate your 7 stock shares for 2800 MS. That's 3500 total, 500 MS more than the Aye vote.
If you only get 6 shares of stock, you would get an income of 600 and could then liquidate them for 2400, getting you 3000 MS, which is exactly what you would have gotten with a Nay vote.
The odds of getting a 6 or higher on a roll of 2d6 are 13/18 which is pretty darn good. That will allow you to at least break even, and of course you can get considerably more. If you're lucky enough to get 12 shares of stock, you could earn an income of 1200 and then liquidate for 4800 for a total of 6000, double the payout for a Nay vote.
Or of course, you don't have to liquidate at all. The Nay vote offers a one-time payment, while Aye offers options. You could choose to just keep your stock and enjoy a steady stream of income. Over the long-term, that's going to get you far more than the dirty money that yet another criminal is attempting to bribe us with.
