We know there is a second killer, and we have no reason to assume it was Hobo. We could gamble it all on the possibility that Hobo was our second killer, but that seems like a pointless risk given that if that's the case then we still won't lose by going for my gambit. And if you're wrong then what I present is the only chance for the town to win. Either way, it appears to be the best option, and nobody's presented anything yet to argue against that.

Which incidentally makes me suspect that you and Gher are our remaining scum.
