First, before anyone bothers mentioning it, we can't hypocop. A person is either alive to say what they did when they claim, or they're dead and we don't know what they were, so HCing serves no purpose except to give the scum a way to pinpoint investigators, as they'd be able to go through the 8 HC's and eliminate not only themselves but usually a little over half the players as possible cops, and the 5-6 remaining townies already provide a tiny pool for them to go fishing in, so knocking that down to 1-3 possible cops for their night 2 NK is a bad idea. That risk is always present but in this small a game it would be an especially big risk and of course would benefit us not at all, since we won't know someone was the cop or tracker or whatever unless they are still alive to tell us anyway. I was tempted to leave that unsaid on the hope a scummer might suggest it, but my brain is always in scummer mode and the immediate mental follow up was "That would be so perfect to frame someone with", and I do think it just as likely if not more likely that a townie would suggest it, as most townies won't give it a second thought where as the scum faction, I think, is likely to have considered HCing, concluded it wold be great if it occurred, and then realized how likely they were to get axed if they suggested it and someone pointed out that HCing in this game would be incredibly anti-town... and in a moment of full disclosure my very next thought was that if that happened and I decided to defend someone who had done it, they might die scum after all and drag me down with them So, all things considered, I think it best to just point out now that HCing in this game is about as beneficial as tap-dancing on a frozen lake.

Now, the pair of probably bum leads... I don't want to explain the reasoning on this in advance and won't bother to unless they pan out, I just want to check on something, and I don't think there's much advantage to going through with encryption considering the fairly slim odds of this actually working. I just want people to answer this until we get a different answer, and I'm betting we need to do this with exactly two players before writing the plan off, if it pans out, then we can follow up but for now...

Concept of Question: Excluding the poetry in your RM, that is, only the text dealing with your alignment and role, count the number of times the letter T as in Tango and E as in Echo appear. Subtract the T's from the E's and respond with that value to this message.

Example: You are a vanilla and win with the town

E appears once, T appears thrice, you'd reply negative two, -2

Example 2: "There must be some kind of way out of here," Said the joker to the thief, "There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.

E appears 15 times, T appears 10, so 5.

Yes it's a touch roundabout and there is a certain element of risk to people exposing they have very long messages and thus might be a role, I picked T and E as basically the "Wheel of Fortune" letters of choice, and likely to have a relatively low difference, they also don't appear in 'vanilla', 'cop', 'mafia', 'scum' or 'doc'

Basically, I would like everyone to do that, but I want everyone to pick different letters of their own choosing, just 1) Make it clear which they picked, 2) Promise to throughly double-check their answer, and 3) Make sure you don't include your poem, title, name, date, etc just the RM text, so a reply like:

R - L = 6

Would be just fine by me, it's a touch of extra work but minimizes the chance of damage, as everyone can pick their own letters. I'd prefer everyone just answer up quickly on a first come first serve basis and without discussing this much. In all probability nothing will comes of this, but it is something I want to rule out now and preferably tonight, and do so without endangering anyone. So the summarized question is:

Pick two letters of your choosing, count how many times each appears in the role and victory condition piece of your RM, then post in reply to this message what those two letters were and which you subtracted from the other and what the number was, please do not discuss and please double-check your count carefully.

... and in all likelihood after the first couple people respond I'll interrupt and say 'waste of time, thanks'
