Approximately 450 years before the end of "Mistborn: The Final Empire"

After some grumbling from the nobility that the arts were being neglected, the Lord Ruler has announced a festival to find and proclaim a Poet Laureate of the Final Empire. All have been invited to enter -- even slaves, although no one doubts that a noble will win the honor.

Everything stops being all fun and games when a skaa rebellion breaks out and an obligator is found murdered. Rumors abound that skaa sympathizers in the noble houses are supporting the rebellion, and other rumors claim that the skaa themselves have infiltrated the noble houses to work from within.

The Lord Ruler could crush the insurrection easily at any time, of course, but he has decided to allow the nobles an opportunity to prove themselves. The festival continues on, and more than poetry is being contested...

In this game, no one needs to worry about being lynched on the first day or killed during the first night. Or any other day or night. In fact, the players are not going to die at all. Everyone who joins will be able to participate (to some extent) throughout the entire duration of the game.

The poetry contest will also play an important part in the game, and anyone with the least interest in poetry may wish to join for that reason alone. The contest is optional; you can play the game without entering the contest, but you cannot enter the contest without playing the game. For those who do choose to enter, there will be some in-game benefits. In addition, the winner at the end -- the Poet Laureate -- will receive a fabulous prize valued at over four hundred thousand (400,000!) Vietnamese dong.

Because of a few timing issues on my part, and to ensure maximum exposure, registration will open for almost two weeks. The game is scheduled to begin on December 5, 2011 in a couple more days. It's being delayed a bit because I don't want Stephen and/or Kronin to miss as much of it! That's totally the only reason. My having planned to spend yesterday doing some final balancing and writing, and then getting drunk and watching football all day instead has nothing to do with it.
