I think it ended as a tossup between 40k and Dresden Files, for me, and the date decided it as there was a book coming out for Dresden. I wouldn't mind doing a 40k game or a Star Wars, both have been requested and though I'm a touched embarrassed to admit it, I do actually read the 40k and Star Wars novels a lot.
This is a safe place, don't be embarrassed. Coincidentally, if I was to say that I wanted to read a Star Wars novel or two or three, what would you suggest?
Well, that would depend on how much Exapanded Universe background you have and if so whether it predates the prequel trilogy. Of the recent books I really enjoyed the first 5 or 6 books of the 'Legacy of the Force' series, and it's own sequel series 'Fate of the Jedi' was decent, but my favorite books of late are:
Darth Plageus by James Luceno
Darth Bane: Path of Destruction by Drew Karpashyn
Darth Bane: Rule of Two by Drew Karpashyn
If you're totally new to Star Wars Expanded Universe though the traditional starting point is Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy, or maybe Matt Stover's novelization of Revenge of the Sith, admittedly I'm biased, all of those feature bad guys who are smart and not so over the top crazy-evil
The Thrawn Triology is on my to-read list, but the others I haven't heard of, so thanks! I used to read a fair amount YA/children's Star Wars novels in my youth, and for whatever reason I just started to wonder what there was out there for adults. Smart bad guys sounds appealing ... they really are the most interesting anyway. Though a good insane laughing bout can go a long way in entertainment value, it's true.
Ah, insane laughter, well there's plenty of that too

About the Revenge of the Sith book ... is it better than the movie Revenge of the Sith? Because Episode II and III really kind of killed my enjoyment of Star Wars for a while there.
It's way better, I read it before I saw it and the flip to Vader is not only not cheesy but very well done
