...that there is only one mafia at a time, but that this mafia gets 'reincarnated' into another player after they die?

I totally want to jump on that for being implausible, but in all honesty I'm just in awe of how devious a setup for a game that would be, and jealous not to have thought of it first.

Objectively though, still pretty implausible :P.

Anyway, I'll go with you on the roleclaim. I'm not especially fond of the notion, but if I'm correct then we have enough of a lead that it won't cause us any significant damage, and if I'm wrong then it is probably worth throwing out every card we have.
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
