Well, I'm only a few chapters in, but thus far there have been three cantarices (the Carlotta, the Sorelli and Christine Daaé), four directors of the Opera (M. Debienne and M. Poligny, both retired, and M. Richard and M. Moncharmin, their replacements), two scions of the Chagny noble family, a number of young ballet dancing girls, three of whom were named, a secretary, a machinist who dies hanged at the very beginning, an usher, a nameless inspector and a nameless doctor, and a few people who have been mentioned but not seen. And the Phantom, of course. I believe that is all, thus far.
