I'm content with either option but the 20 questions approach tends to be more effective then people think, someone can screw themselves with a genuinely contradictory claim, but more importantly in a game with named characters you can limit their options for fake claims down the road a lot. I think coding names is the best option here, however I don't see it necessarily being an either/or situation, we might do well to do both.
