The Italian vampire knew how many servants were in the home, their heartbeats fluttering as they went about their business. He even knew about the hidden one, skulking behind a false wall with a weapon. Alessandro kept the smile on his face, as he slowly rose and walked closer to the fire place.

"As I am sure you must have noticed, Jacob bar Josef de Vargas, Rey de la Noche, has been taken by the Inquisition. He still lives and is secure. While this is so, I have begun investigating how this happened."

Frowning, Alessandro glared into the flames.

"Simply put, the King must have been betrayed, and I desire to find out who that betrayer was. It is well known that you hear much of the information that flows through the veins of this city. Obviously, you will be compensated for any information you can provide, whether in gold, trading rights, or information you would like."

Alessandro knew that he was laying all of his information on the table for the werewolf to know. Goldenteeth was as honorable as one could expect a merchant to be, and he would sell the information Alessandro had given him to the next profitable buyer. One could hope that once someone bought that information, Alessandro could return to buy information on whomever followed after him.
