I mean, Sun and Jin dead? Umm...wha????????? I am so in denial, and the part of me that is not in denial is desperately hoping that when Super Desmond 'fixes' the world, they get their second, real, abiding-for-all-time chance at happiness (which is to say I'm on board with the theories mentioned above that after Jack assumes the role of Jacob, that will be Desmond's job before he heads off in to the sunset with Penny).
Not surprised that Jack is the Jacob-elect, although it will be sad to say good-bye to David, who's just so darn adorable.
But....again, I'm sputtering here. Sun AND Jin. Jin AND Sun? WAAAAAAAAH! *sniffles*, well, I guess I do recall, way back when, the producers saying that we'd know the end was near when they started killing off characters left, right, and center. Umm, mission accomplished, there. Poor Ji Yeon.
I'm sad for the loss of Frank, especially as it was completely unclear why the Island bothered bringing him back, but I'm glad Sayid got his redemptive moment.
For a moment, I thought the explosives on the plane were planted by Ben, Richard, and Miles. I don't think Widmore wanted to kill the 'candidates' (although yeah, I bet he would have killed Kate). But on the other hand, surely he knew that UnLocke couldn't try to leave without them. So, what was Widmore trying to do by rigging the plane in such an obvious way? And leaving the sub insufficiently protected?
I figure that having the plane rigged was NOT UnLocke's idea. And yet, how did he plan to get the Losties to kill themselves on the plane? Was he counting on Sawyer to keep him off?
Incidentally, Sawyer got played big time this episode.
Finally, the tune playing in the music box was "Catch a Falling Star and put it in your pocket..." which Claire asks a prospective pair of adoptive pairs to sing to Aaron, as she remembers he father singing it to her when she was little. Apparently, in sideways world, Christian might have sung it to her, but she doesn't remember.

The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.
