I think the season has been fairly flat as they try to wrap it up. Interesting but fairly flat.

As far as Jack goes, recall that Jacob brings people to the island to choose not to be evil. Desmond is the only one who is cognizant in other timelines and is now acting like Jacob in the sideways universe. Jack is simply choosing of his own free will to believe; he is not acting anything like Jacob.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
