Didn't David say "are you coming to the concert tonight" to Jack? I very much doubt Jack will have "fixed" Locke's back by then. Maybe all that was important was Locke getting over that mental hurdle?
Didn't notice that, so I just checked. He said Tonight. Either the concert is not the end of it yet and the operation later will have significance too, or maybe Jack invites wheelchair-Locke to the concert.
