HBO's GAME OF THRONES: A new actress for Daenerys

HBO have completed their recasting of Daenerys for GAME OF THRONES, choosing relatively unknown British actress Emilia Clarke for the role. According to George RR Martin, her audition was extremely impressive.
There has been a short delay to filming to take account of the reshoots needed for the pilot, and shooting will now resume in the second half of July 2010. Whether this affects the hoped-for transmission date of April-May 2011 remains to be seen.
