In commentaries and so forth, everyone acts like it is the second coming or something whenever she graces a show with her presence. There is no explanation for it. Maybe she is a really good actress, but her strong accent eradicates any real appeal for me as a character (while I would guess she is more fluent than, say, Yunjin Kim, nonetheless, the stereotypical characteristics of an Asian trying to wrap her mouth around English are much more pronounced and distracting), and her having episodes written around her on all three of my favorite shows in which she has guest-starred is aggravating as well. Yet, the writers and such all seem to think it is so awesome to have her that they are willing to write out-of-place, standalone episodes to showcase her.
