It could perhaps have been the Frenchmen, post-conversion. There's a time gap, in which Jin warns Danielle not to go down the hole like the others, and then he flashes. When he next appears, some time has passed, and he witnesses Danielle kill her boyfriend. But Jin would have flashed at the same time as the other Losties, so there was no time in between flashes in which the now-Evil Frenchmen could have been maurauding the seas.
Unless...I can't remember. Did Jin wander around the jungle for a while before coming back to Danielle's camp...possibly half a day? Time for Sawyer et al to get in the boat, and for the Frenchmen to get in another boat and follow after?
Otherwise, it was Ilana et al, thinking they were shooting at Smoke followers. For all of Ilana spending her life training to protect the candidates, she must have skipped the course on dynamite safety.
