I thought it was a very good episode Mark Send a noteboard - 05/06/2010 09:44:08 PM
I liked it.
And, like Monkey, I got teary-eyed in the museum. I always do in these types of episodes.

I want to know more about the Doctor's godmother.

And I love and adore Bill Nighy. Words are not enough.
Also, his pronounciation was much closer to what I consider acceptable than anyone else's, including Van Gogh himself.

Thoughts?

The pronunciation annoyed me also. I was a little worried because Curtis can often be brilliant (Blackadder), but he can often be poor also (Vicar of Dibley). But he really delivered here, writing easily the best historic character episode I have seen.

It was a well constructed story which I felt dealt sensitively and intelligently with some important issues, which programmes which are at least somewhat aimed at children often avoid.

And I too got a little misty-eyed at the museum scenes.
