Project Runway is back, baby! And I am glad.

So there've been a couple of changes this season. The show is now an hour and half long instead of just an hour. I am not very happy about this, because they appear to be filling the extra time with the designers just talking amongst themselves. If they're doing this now when there are 16 designers, what are they going to be filling all that time with when there are only 4 or 5? I shudder to think. The drama is my least favorite part of the show, just get to the clothes!!

What did you think of the first episode? It was fairly different from the usual format ... they kept making a big deal that no one was safe, and then they only sent one person home. I was totally flabbergasted that they didn't send Jason home then and there for that horrific kimono mess. And Ivy too, for those ugly, ugly pants. The judges loved Gretchen's dress with the epaulets, but I wasn't that big of a fan. I've seen pretty much the exact same style at JC Penny earlier this year. I'm serious. I tried on a couple of shirts with beaded epaulets, and then looked in the mirror and said "this is weird," and then took them off. And I was kind of disappointed because I was secretly really delighted at the prospect of having a shirt with epaulets, but I digress.

Episode two! I am so glad Jason went home. Dude was crazy. First of all, his dress had about zero to do with Marie Claire. Secondly, the cut of the dress, the boots, and the picture made his model look stumpy. Third, SAFETY PINS and the HOLE. What a mess. The other guy I was pretty meh on, but his clothes were ugly, so whatever.

I was a bit surprised Gretchen won again. I really really liked the styling of her model's hair and the neckline of the dress, but I HATED the cropped pant with the clunky boots. Ugh, terrible. I really liked Valerie's dress and Mondo's too. I thought one of them was going to win ... but I liked all three well enough, so that's cool.
