Because I found those concepts sociologically interesting.
Beyond that it's pretty annoying, uninteresting sometimes even down right stupid, I agree. I particularly curse the fact that there is more of those on music video channels than actual, wait for it, music videos.
But yeah someone must be watching, or they wouldn't get made.
