It took me a while to warm up to him, especially after Eccleston, who I thought was just amazing. He does pretty good through season two, and is really excellent in season 3. Of all the Doctors I probably like him the least, but he is still quite good once he gets in the swing of things, and he has some of my favorite episodes. The Impossible Planet and the Satan Pit in season two, as well as the Girl in the Fireplace are both good. Season three gives you Gridlock, Blink, and the three part finale which was extremely good. And season 4 gives you an extremely good Moffat 2 parter.
There is some serious rubbish in there as well, Daleks in Manhattan and its second part Evolution of the Daleks come to mind. My point though...is mainly that he will grow on you. He is a very different Doctor than Eccleston, but he is good in his own way. And...if he doesn't grow on you too much....well, you've got Matt Smith in the newest season to look forward to, and he was really really good.

So, I just started watching Torchwood. Easy question inside.

I'm definitely down with the humor and tongue in cheek I've seen so far.

You don't have to watch Dr. Who first. Torchwood stands well on its own.

That's the kind of thing that would be fun to p/u on when watching Torchwood, for me anyway.

I'll definitely be on the lookout. That was probably the best of season 1.
