I know everyone harps on the Batman voice, but I don't really understand why they do. If you're trying to keep a secret identity, then disguising your voice is a really damn good idea, otherwise anyone who knew him as Bruce Wayne would figure it out. I don't even find it annoying on its own merits. Yeah, it's all growly and unnatural, but that's sort of the point. Batman, the concept, is designed to inspire fear in the criminal world. Batman himself is, in essence, growly and unnatural, and really I prefer this voice to the alternative disguised voice, which would be the manly American hero Superman voice, and that's not who Batman is.

Also it can't be easy to pull off consistently, and you have to give Bale's tortured vocal chords some credit.
