I will totally watch a movie without a single strong female character to watch things blow up.

I.E. I like James Bond movies

Yes, so do I, and so does, inexplicably, my mother (who other than that only watches happy-ending romantic movies). But that's one thing in a movie on which you spend two hours, quite another in a TV series on which you spend an hour each week for several seasons. Mindless entertainment of the kind you get in action movies isn't really the same as what one wants to see in a TV series, if you ask me.
